On Monday 10th December we held our annual Christmas Carol Service at Rochester Cathedral. The RGS Robotics Club recently competed in the First Lego League tournament held at Kent University, at Canterbury. They went up against a dozen other local schools in a series of challenges. The Robotics Club has been working to prepare for this event for many months by meeting together during lunchtimes and afterschool. The ‘Untold Stories’ Black History Exhibition   The first stage of the project started last year. We met with a member of the Medway African and Caribbean association, Yassmin, and a researcher from the Chatham Historic Dockyard, Ally. Students and staff at Rochester Grammar School are overjoyed to be collecting some brilliant GCSE results today – with a quarter of all results a grade 8 or 9 (equivalent to an A or A*). Students at Rochester Grammar School are celebrating after they achieved world-class results in the International Baccalaureate (IB) this year – enabling them to win places at some of the best universities in the country and prestigious apprenticeships with leading firms.   When we first arrived at Adventure international Centre in Bude, Cornwall, most people were still a bit homesick and sad to have left their families. Even though we were all tired from the six hour journey we all had to drag our luggage up 4 or more flight of stairs. Multicultural week took place the week beginning Monday 26th March, a celebration of the diversity of cultures within the school’s staff and students. Organised by a team of volunteering students with the help of teachers, the week was a great success in allowing students to explore different cultures. On Wednesday 25th April 2018, a presentation evening was held at Rochester Cathedral for those students from The Rochester Grammar School and Holcombe Grammar School who had completed their Duke of Edinburgh award in the past year.
