Students at Rochester Grammar School are celebrating after receiving their GCSE results

Students and staff at Rochester Grammar School, located on Maidstone Road and part of Thinking Schools Academy Trust, are celebrating today as they receive their GCSE grades.

The school is pleased to see another year of strong results. Despite the reported national dip in results, Rochester Grammar School students have outperformed previous years, including the last comparable year of 2019, with 62% of students achieving a grade 7 or higher in their examinations.  With more than 1 in 3 results at grade 8 or 9 and 100% of students achieving a pass in both English and Maths, students have done incredibly well.

While performance was strong across all subjects, the school saw particular success in the core with more than 70% of students achieving a grade 7 and above in English, Maths and all separate sciences (Chemistry, Biology and Physics).

There are several standout individual performances with 11 students achieving more than 8 grade 9s across their subjects and two students, including Karina Cojucar, obtaining 11 grade 9s and 1 grade 8.

Clare Brinklow Principal at Rochester Grammar School said:

“I am delighted for our students receiving their GCSE results today. They have worked incredibly hard over the last two years and it is fantastic to see their dedication rewarded with an excellent set of results, bucking the national trend.

“We are excited to see what the future holds for them and look forward to welcoming many of them back to our sixth form in September. We would like to say a huge thank you to all our students, parents, carers, staff and local community for your support and encouragement.”
